The difference is the intent - calling CQ is the protocol for seeking a contact to communicate with. It's not broadcasting because you're trying to establish comms with someone, and not disseminating information "one-to-many". Running a net inherently intends to engage in contact with numerous stations - by definition not "broadcasting".
The only thing I watch on youtube.com is music stuff (electronic, industrial) and occasional tech stuff like some retro computing stuff or such. I very rarely use it. I just went to the home page to see an example because I was curious. One of the recommended videos about 3 rows down? "Donald Trump Recruits Rambo To End The Iran War". It's AI slop. I watch NOTHING about politics or similar on here. Nothing about the US or war things or anything. "The algorithm" is doing exactly what your quoted snippet indicated, scarily enough.

Yeah, I bought an NVIDIA Shield, took it back to the store after I got it home and found out you literally can't use it without signing into a Google account (and this wasn't mentioned on the outside of the package).
Why using Discord for comms? Is there anyone who hasn't hit the max 100 "servers" years ago? I've been [lightly] using Discord since 2015 - I'm at the point where I just simply won't even consider trying to narrow down which "server" I can leave so as to join a new one, unless it's something pretty important to make it worth that time sink.
