Like it or not, this is how people perceive output from llms. Those ultra rich companies can't forever have the cake and eat it too, just milking global markets forever (I know they of course desperately want and need to, but that's their struggle).

I am fine with that solution since I don't need to shill for them for some ie investment or employment reasons. Less technically skilled people (aka your parents or grandparents) are getting their lives fucked up left and right because they learned to trust search results, and now they suddenly can't.

Own. Your. Shit.

If you judge people by their ancestor's actions, there is literally no place, no human being that could be called moral or good. Neither you (or me), you just need to look far enough in time.

I wouldnt be so harsh even with chinese combustion engines, its at this point a meme that is just copy pasted because everybody says so, but without actual experience. People dont understand how China is 3x bigger than Europe and 4x bigger than US, the scale of that market is absurd and competition numerous and fierce.

I've had MG suv rented recently with just gasoline engine and it was fine. This comes from long term bmw driver, they are not on the exactly same level, but light years ahead from similarly prices ie french vehicles. Handling was fine too, probably the biggest shock for me, this is where french, italian etc are losing me (bmw effect). And they cost 1/3 of bmw.

True, and on a similar wavelength, nobody seems to care that Kia/Hyundai engines are super mid.

Heck, nobody seems to care that Toyota engines/transmissions sound like a vacuum cleaner and have pretty mediocre NVH on models like the Corolla, but they buy those products for reliability and efficiency.

I don't get why many folks are missing the obvious issue - even if you manage all that, its at most a copy command, there is never actual move. You yourself would be staring at this other guy, probably being envious since form now on its him / her having the future, while the actual you who wrote that comment is about to be removed for disposal. And whole representation of universe and Earth you have in your mind would die with you.

You would have to move every electron traveling in between each neuron into exactly same place, same momentum etc. All of them in the same time obviously. I stress the word move. In a system that is constantly moving on molecular level at crazy speed. Even that is only valid in case our consciousness is just electron cloud at given moment travelling in the brain. Maybe its more, all interconnected.

How you want to move that. The science for that won't be around for millennia, if ever (there may be quite hard constraints on quantum level in similar way speed of light is hard limit for Star trek utopias, universe doesn't rearange itself and change its laws just because of our emotional wishful thinking). Once we can do that, it means we could mess with telomeres, DNA etc with 100% precision and knowledge so this will be a moot point. Don't hold your breath for this.

The simplest way to "fix" that is killing the original one as a required and atomic part of the process. Make it so that there is no moment in time when both are awake and concious

But that is still asking people to get into the death box so that a clone of them can live on. Personally, I wouldn't accept certain death so a copy of me could live.

I imagine going to sleep and waking up in another body. I recommend the TV serie Altered Carbon.

only the clone has that experience. Your experience is walking into the cloning chamber and dying. You never get the benefit.

Another fiction movie that explores this: Moon (2009) it's a very good movie!

The clone is you though, assuming it's a perfect copy

Well you could grow a clone body and then use a brain transplant.

This is still within the science fiction territory, but much more realistic than fixing aging or an actual teleporter.

The brain would still be old, but it would probably benefit quite a lot from the new body's youthness.

Lol we, even you, talk about additives and then you bring up nutritional content of the food itself. Do you even understand the topic discussed? It certainly doesn't seem so, or you have an agenda to serve, for whatever reason. Or are llms today having most of computing power diverted into pretraining new version?

We do list all of that, but thats usually a separate table, or if not a separate bloc of text. Its always there. Posting random webs scraped by llms ain't providing facts and personal experience to discussion.

Maybe you are the one with an agenda.

> nutritional content of the food itself

Maybe Europeans have a superior alien biology where nutritional content of the food itself doesn't matter.

Rest of the world has human biology where nutritional content of the food itself matters.

There is certainly more that we can do. Ie being more careful with introducing new chemicals with largely unknown long term effects.

The burden of proof shouldn't be decades of research seeing thousands of people developing serious health issues and/or dying, and then reacting. It should be on companies, having lengthy and expensive process for approval and then continue reviewing. This is not some app release ffs, we talk about lives and health of billions, how much more we can fail our children if we fail this.

Or you know what, you can do that with you and your kids, but please allow me and my family to use more conservative approach, I am happy to pay a bit extra.

Strong claims require strong evidence, not just throwing random fashionable words others are using. Your claims are very strong.

Do you need evidence that "Natural doesn't mean healthy or good for the environment"?

Asbestos, is "natural". So is Arsenic. And CO2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appeal_to_nature

Or do you need evidence that the bio labels are not optimizing for health or environment? Check the rules. Most of them are just there to restrict synthetic products, regardless of their impact.

I don't eat bananas I can buy in Europe, not after doing some travels. They are extremely bland, doesn't matter where I buy them. Now when traveling in exotic countries, what a beautiful experience to taste one!

"Exotic countries" lol. There's at least a few species in the banana genus that grow in almost every single country in the global south

Thats some mighty hyperbole, not everybody is breaking some minor (or not so minor) laws 50x a day. Or a year.

Societies where there is high amount of respect towards each other and rules tend to perform much better over long time, ie Switzerland. Its a pleasure to live in such society especially when coming from more messy ones, triple that with small kids.

> Thats some mighty hyperbole, not everybody is breaking some minor (or not so minor) laws 50x a day. Or a year.

How do you know? Do you know of all of the protected species of bug in your country for instance?

In my town there are laws about using profanity in public. I'm sure they would be deemed illegal if charges were brought but the law is still on the books.

Its not pre-internet travel, rather backpacking. I do it to this very day, by far the best and most rewarding way to travel, the further and more exotic the better.

It has a downside - I'll never do these pre-arranged trips where one is in complete luxury bubble, interactions with locals are the best part of experiences. What a waste of potential.

And yes its mostly compatible with kids, it depends more on specific location than mode of travel (ie avoiding malaria/dengue/etc. regions)
