Of course it does. The fundamental and inalienable individual right is self defence.



Isn't that the point? An inalienable right to self-defense is not an inalienable right to specific weapons or an inalienable right to wield them in all contexts. For example gun free zones wouldn't be a thing if you had an transitive inalienable right to carry a gun from self-defense.

Like all rights it is not limitless.

However, if you have no effective way to exercise the right then clearly it has been infringed.

In the same way that your free speech rights have been infringed if you are only allowed to exercise free speech in your own home.
