This is stupid. If you build an Apple News article with different content from the actual article, Apple users will complain, just as if you build an AMP article that is worse than the normal page, search engine and link aggregator users (not just Google's) will complain. That's why people hate Reddit AMP results. If you ignore these warnings, Google will probably demote your AMP pages, and rightly so because users will hate those results.

The author is basically broadcasting that he is clueless and actively harming his clients' businesses.
