Thanks for sharing this! Do you have any Thunderbolt peripherals? I'm reading on the forums that the Framework should support it; they're just waiting on certification from Intel. The last time I tried Thunderbolt on Linux was Ubuntu on a 2015 MBP, and it would kernel panic on disconnect :(

I hope NixOS gets Secure Boot working sometime soon. Seems like a no-brainer for machines used in a business setting. Looks like there’s slow but steady progress being made: https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/53901.


Good review and I am sure the Framwrmework laptop is promising. But about the specs. 8 years ago I upgrade my Sony Vaip laptop to 16gb. At that time this was not expensive. Why are we still having laptop at the tech level with 16gb. There are bo limitations in the DDR4 architecture, that is certain.
