The reactionary right is more effective at online propaganda than the left, partly because internet culture was born out of the cesspools of SA and 4chan, and partly due to the cultural effect of having a President pushing the anti-leftist narrative across mainstream and social media. Witness what happened to "woke", "toxic masculinity" and "fake news" for example - their common meanings are now precisely the meanings the right uses to denigrate them, to the point that they are almost exclusively used by right-wingers in the pejorative, and are only useful as dog-whistles.
The parent literally brought up flat-Eartherism, which is extremely fringe and largely promulgated by the mentally ill and hucksters, also there are no proposed policy changes on offer by flat-Earthers. For what I mentioned, and all those related, there are have been many effects on political messaging, corporate policy influences, and policy proposals.
You're talking about misinterpretations of weird fringes akin to painting right wingers as racists that shout 'groomer' at every LGBTQ+ person and sabotage substations to stop drag shows.
