This isn't surprising I suppose. There's always been a conflict between the studios and the writers, but they needed writers. The first chance to get rid of them must be very appealing. No more arguments about artistic integrity, or adult references sneaked into a script, or anything edgy or controversial. No arguments when they want something rewritten 20 times.

It must be like a dream come true!
